Monk fruit sweetener is delicious, nutritious and certified kosher, with no harmful additives or artificial chemicals. Packed with antioxidants, nutrients and pure, natural sweetness, monk fruit sweetener contains erythritol and monk fruit extract and is the preferred choice of many consumers!

What is Monk Fruit Extract?

Monk fruit extract has been used for centuries as a sweetener and as a component in ancient Chinese medicine due to its health benefits. Monk fruit extract is derived from the sweet juice of a sub-tropical melon that has been cultivated in Asia for hundreds of years. Extracting juice from fresh monk fruit results in a clean, white color.

What is Erythritol?

First discovered in the mid 19th century, erythritol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol. Erythritol can help fight free radicals due to its antioxidant properties and it is considered to be the most efficient of all sugar alcohols. Erythritol is quickly and efficiently metabolized by the body, yet only partially absorbed. As a result, you can enjoy the sweetness of erythritol with none of the calories!

Erythritol Production Process

Health Garden’s Erythritol is derived from non-GMO corn grown in the USA. We endeavor to ensure that our ingredients are as pure and high-quality as possible, so we can provide you with an authentic, healthy product.

Erythritol is produced by fermenting the natural sugar found in corn, which is then purified and crystallized.

Will Erythritol Cause Stomach Pain?

Erythritol is unique among sugar alcohols because 90% of erythritol is absorbed before it reaches the large intestine. Therefore, it does not cause gastric distress or have laxative effects the way some other sugar alcohols, such as xylitol, maltitol and sorbitol are known to do! Erythritol may be a good choice for people with sensitive stomachs who are adversely affected by other sugar alcohols.

What are Zero Net Carbs?

Erythritol contains 4 grams of carbs per tsp, as listed on our nutrition facts. However, erythritol is a fiber. Fiber reduces the effect of carbs by slowing down the flow of sugar into the bloodstream and preventing sugar level spikes. Therefore, the 4 grams of erythritol completely cancels out the effect of the 4 grams of carbs it contains, resulting in zero net carbs and no sugar highs or lows!
